Another Problem!

Noticed that there is knocking coming from the rear wheel (passanger side) like going over rumble strips. It gets faster as the wheel moves faster. It hasn't been a gradule problem I just noticed it today.


its at the rear so so it cannot be a drive-shaft.
Possibly A wheel bearing??

Thoughts?

Jack up the side thats knocking and wobble the wheel about. If theres excessive movement then its probably a wheel bearing.

I jacked the car up and gave the wheel a shake, all seemed normal, however when I spun the wheel the knocking noise was there.
I took the drum brake apart it seems that the welds have broken on the wheel studs so the wheel wobbles about when I drive.

Have that fixed asap Last thing you want is your wheel flying off on the motorway!

happened in my mates 106 gti bit different but was messy! the wheel that came off stopped him hitting the barrier!
