hey.
been looking for alloys and was wondering, how much do 15"s change performance? i no the acceleration is affected but how much? i've never been able to compare seeing as i've never driven a k10 with 15"s. i dont really want to go to the trouble of fitting bike carbs n all and then weighing it down with big heavy alloys. will the size of the alloys be compensated if i stick some decent tred around them?

its more the circumference than the weight thats the problem,
go for the lowest profile you can afford !

It's not so much the circumference thats the problem as a 195/45x15 is only 1.7% bigger in circumference than the standard 155/70x13 tyre, rather the weight of the bigger wheel and the rolling resistance or drag of the wider tyre, on my car I have lost around 10mph from top speed and I would reckon gained a good 1 to 1 1/2 seconds on the 0-60, so I would imagine they would make quite an impact on a K10 1 litres performance.

I may just go for some 14" with some decent tyres. Speedle maybe you could help, if i remember right you'r k10 was on the bike carbs with the lenso's. what was the performance like?

they do if the car has no power but with the webbers and the 421 my car still goes like stink 0-60 is a flat 8 seconds now woop! i wonder what it would be on 13"s LOL

If you want to increase the wheel size and not lose performance you will need to pay extra for the likes of OZ Racing...There wheels only weigh about 4.5Kg.

If you put 'normal' alloys on then your acceleration will be affected due to the engine needing to work harder to turn the wheels
