Alloy Wheels

Hi All,

I've been looking at getting Alloy Wheels for my Micra,
Currently I have 13" standard wheels but I would like alloys.
Seen some nice Ripspeed 15" alloy wheels, would they fit ok on my micra?

Not seen much on eBay, these alloys are from Halfords.

Anybody's help would be great,

Ripspeed might fit, but you'll forever be ridiculed for buying overpriced, generic wheels from Halfords.

Pollyp's alloys are very nice and keep the OEM look!

man, from limited personal experience.... Since I've fitted 15's and lowered the ride 35mm ventura springs IIRC, also replaced all shocks to new genuine nissan... the ride has now overall become disgusting... the car handles turns under speed nicely, but personally I regret it...

thankfully you've remarkably decent roads there in the UK, but here in Malta it's like Gaza, and believe me every pothole is felt by every plastic bit of the car..

just saying mate, I love the way it looks, but one must compromise.. I've tried talking to lots of car-guys and no-one've come up with any suggestions on improving it rather than refitting everything stock.. It's felt so bad that I still do believe that's something's simply not right. I'm not so techie, but could be shocks not compatible with lowered springs..buhh..just anything..but nobody agreed when I told them so...

I have got 15" Vauxhall Tigra Alloys on mine, used 5mm spacers and they fit a dream!

I think those Pollyp´s tires give a quite comfortable ride and don´t look bad either. I´ve got FK -40 springs and summertires 195/50R15, bit too hard/firm for my taste. Looks are ok, but I think I would rather get 13-14s next. Low profile looks good, high profile gives softer ride for daily use.

Could you not use those suspension clamps on standard springs? Lower it and keep the stock ride comfort maybe?

The clamps are not a good idea. They will break if you can manage to get them in there and you drive the car, and the spring becomes stiffer as it is compressed lower so...no more stock ride comfort.

The nissan shocks are not good with lowering springs....you´ll have to get decent gas/oil shocks which are compatible to the job.
And yeah the comfortness is always ruined more or less if you lower the suspension with springs.

Agree with that.
Actually I like those FK springs (not so bouncy as stock) but 195/50R15s are a bit too stiff, except on good roads and curves. For daily bumpy roads I could use some more profile, but lets live with ´em now

Ah I've never used or know of anyone using them. Just seen a few on internet lol

You´ll have to change to smaller rim if you want more profile, the stock wheel arches are a bit small

I´ve found at rear some scrheek noises in bigbig humps and some load on...on those winter 185/65/14 tyres . Studs make interesting noises when hitting steel

185/65R14´s diameter * is quite big 596mm compared to stock 155/70R13 548mm.

195/50R15 dia 577mm, I´ve 175/65R14 (dia 584mm) new winter tires waiting for snow and ice. Don´t bother change them yet cos the first snow melted ages ago and it´s raining all the time. I think that 584mm dia is max with 40mm drop... are you running on chopped springs?

I have stock suspension, the tires are a bit too big but i had them lying around so
They were in one N15 almera which i owned earlier.

Stiffer suspension would be maybe even better because this original is soft and gives up in the big humps.
