All Intake manifold/throttle body options for cg13

It seems to me we have a couple of options to go on the intake of things.

1. Ga15 Throttle body = straight bolt on no issues. Ga15 throttle body is 50mm diameter compared to the stock cg13 45MM

2. Ga16 Throttle body = bolt on, however one wire is incorrect causing car to idle abnormally. Not sure on diameter can anyone confirm?

3. Sr20 Intake manifold = Plate required to bolt on, Ecu required to map. Throttle body = 60mm

4. Ga16 intake manifold = Spec on this is unknown i was hoping someone might elighten me if the ga16 is a good work around between sr20 and ga16 throttle body?

The following is the picture of mulhollands customers car with ga16 intake manifold, infact it might be the ga16 engine too. Would it be hard putting in the ga16 engine? it looks similar to a cg series. hmmmmmmm

Also interested in the GA16 intake manifold, bolt on or custom fit? Im currently running the GA15 throttle and injectors on my march. after installing I had problems with the idle, played around with the idle screw and got it around 800 stable, running it off the stock ecu. also had to shave the about 2-3mm of the top of 2nd intake bolt to fit it.
I recently bought a Sr20 throttle and adapter off yahoo.jp. looks like the sr20 MAF coupler is different than the marchs. anyone have one installed? Ive seen a couple sites were people here have rewired the k11 coupler to suit the Sr20's. also like you said ECU remap is required.

that picture is definately not of an cg13 motor with whatever plenum you's reckon it is. look at the radiator hoses. pretty sure thats a ga15/16. i've had a full nismo n2 kit on my car before with sr20 throttle body, bigger injectors etc. in all honesty, i think that the sr20 throttle body is massively to big. i'm currently running a ga15 throttle body which bolted straight on. which will be for sale shortly as im going microtech and custom plenum etc.

if you read what i wrote i said im pretty sure it is the ga16 engine

From what i found out after that cg16 requires similar stuff done to basically transplant a sr20 so its pretty useless

The second generation GA16 from the n15 (Black plastic cam cover) has a number of improvements over the first gen (alloy cover) too. Most noticeable would be visibly stronger conrods and a more refined better flowing head.

Different intake runners on the generations too - there's some debate over which are best but the general idea is that they're both average for performance (same with the standard cams - lots of power to be found from a GA16 with some more aggressive cams).

i saw on uk forum that you would need to cut the chassis and custom driveshafts. Wouldnt it be smarter in that case to put in a sr20? same amount of work right

If you were looking for power yes that is correct. Despite the SR being all all alloy enigne the GA is definately lighter.

SR also requires a different gearbox to the CG/GA. And funnily enough, the rs5f32a/v gearboxes are also considerably heavier than the CG/GA rs5f30a/31a.

So an N15 GA16 isnt a bad option at all.

i see where you are coming from. Upset weight ratio is not good... I might go for a cg15 throttle body at 50mm. I was thinking along the same lines as redick69 ie bigger tb is not often better.

Abit exxy though at 170 a pop from the wreckers

you just need a uk spec GA16 TB its bigger than the GA15 cheap as chips as there are loads of them about all you need to do is get the bolts when you get the TB remove the AAC valve (easy job) and swivle the 3rd injector round 180degs i carnt get on my photobucket account so i carnt show you pics, if you have a non nats micra you can get the 1.6 ECU and injectors aswell and fit them..

i've been looking into putting a ga16 into my micra and it seems to be pretty simple aslong as you get the right engine. apparently the onle to go for is a pre 96 one with a non nats ecu. the only modification you have to make is to remove the mechanically driven water pump and replace it with an electric one. but i've heard that if you use an engine mount from a 1.0L micra then it will move the engine over enough for the waterpump to clear the chassis.
