Air intake idea

If i took out the current air intake system and supplied an air cylinder connected to the throttle body which was pressurised constantly and kept topped up to say 8 psi.
would that work on increasing horse power.

Would the seals if there are any in the throttle body wear out as a result.

I'm have no idea at what rate an engine uses air, but I'd say to make this idea work, let alone work for any period of time that would make it worth while, you'd need a pretty friggin big bottle of compressed air. And any performance benefits you'd get out of it would probably also be completely undone by the extreme weight of having such a huge cylinder in the back.

You'd be better off hooking up a bottle of pure oxygen, after all that is all a turbo/supercharger is doing, supplying more oxygen to the engine. Or better better yet, get a small NOS setup installed. The only problem would be that a set up like that with NOS or pure Oxygen would be completely illegal to use on public roads.
