Air con issues on Auto Micra k12, 2008

I have just bought a second hand, automatic, Micra k12 for my wife and I think it has issues with the air con compressor. When the air con is started the compressor make a noise, something like a "pooff" (like an air compressed gun shot). Is this normal, or did anybody had the same issue?

Think that's normal, mine makes a noise similar to you description, turn the radio up and you wont here it
