Fitted a Splitfire tacho to get the usual running rpms of the engine as I am designing some custom headers.
Did not want to run a wire to the coil on number one cylinder as it would mean finding a route through the firewall and interfering with the ignition system. So I used the engine speed sensor pick up from the auto trans computer under the glove box for the speed pickup and attached the two power wires to the cigarette lighter power wires behid the dash for the power supply.
The tacho works great but it has caused a cel because the auto trans computer is linked to the canbus.
Any suggestions?
