after fitting the extractors, can hear knocking sounds

i have already replaced the bottom engine mount, engine idles quieter but still getting this knocking sound when accelerating hard, what else can it be?

upper mount not sitting central ? (i had to fit some packing on the rear mount on my blue car to get an equal airgap on the sides of the upper mount, for some reason)

yes mate #9 o/s upper mount, i did an engine change and the one side of the mount was too close to the chassis bracket for some reason and transmitted a lot of vibration when booted

interesting coz i replaced this 2 upper mounts a year ago and i dont have any problem, but noise only came out when i fitted the extractors just a month ago....

maybe the extractors are pulling against one of the mounts eh, and the engine tries to rotate "top backwards" and "bottom forwards" ,if you want to check for clearance under load

Yeah ive got this sound.. I think it adds to that awesome jetfighter feel when you put your foot down..

Oh, its the flange belting the **** out of the mount.. Technically you could remove it and grind it down but meh.

is it normal for gear stick to moved after releasing the clutch then accelerate?

yes the whole gearchange assy will move a little on its rubbers under load, i had to stiffen my rear one up a bit last week (wedged some extra rubber in, in a vice )

When i fitted my extractors(hurricane) i had to make a piece to join the rear flange of the extractors, incorporate a flexi joint, bend around swaybar and join to cat, It was around the swaybar that i had trouble, still knocks under heavy driving

So this already a common problem, if i only knew i could have just modified the stock manifold

Space your swaybar with some steel plates under the central mounts.

Same problem happened to me.
