5th gear issue cg13de

Hi guys. Just collected a Micra sr. Been fine for 45 miles on way home and it now keeps popping out of 5th gear with a crunching noise. Any ideas?

Gonna have to drop to 60mph now in 4th to keep same revs as 5th at 70 lol

worn g/box or loose rear mount maybe andy ?

Only does it on acceleration in. 5th

likely mount/s,,could tighten cable a little more till you change

Will try it. Now I can't even keep it in 5th without it crunching lol. I home now anyhow.

Hey, glad you made it home.

Thats a bit weird. Never came across that issue whilst on the road. I didnt change the mounts since the engine swap in 2010, has the original g/b too. It was sitting around for 3 or 4 weeks. Could the trans/oil have gone gloopy?

It's Deffo gearbox that's gone. So time to check ebay and scrap dealers

That sucks dude, really sorry to hear that. Fortunately gearboxes are not that expensive or hard to get .

Still gutted though.

Fitted a induction kit today from halfords. Yes it's rip speed but it was £10 new lol. Now I feel 17 again. Love this car

Mental that torque steer mate haha. I think that induction kit added 50bhp ;-)
