Just bought a 2000 Celebration model and noticed there is no anti-roll bar at the rear. Handling seems fine. Is this normal for this model?

» CMF MemberI think it is normal on some base 1L models to not have the anti roll but not sure about the 1.3L models.

» CMF Memberthe quesiton is, does it have the mounts on the axle? if not then no and if yes, maybe have a look into it.

» CMF MemberTa for the replies. Checked and there are mounts on the axle for the anti-roll bar. Have to admit the handling on this car seems fine or maybe I don't know what I'm looking for (first car) - Why would a previous owner remove the anti-roll bar off? Is there any reason?

Try to pick up a heavy duty swaybar off the Micra UK forums or you could even explore a dual rear swaybar setup (example <a href=http://wiki.r31skylineclub.com/index.php?title=Sway_bars_and_Strut_braces#Dual_rear_sway_bars>here</a>) if you're handy and want to do it on the cheap.

» CMF Memberthere is a suspension school of thought saying that when running stiffer shocks/springs removing or keeping standard the rear sway/anti-roll bar and only upgrading the front give maximum grip to the rear so it does not slide.
a few people in the AE86 and silvia circles certainly adhere to this with some success. i my self dont subscribe to this theory and would much prefer to fit swaybars and have the shocks/springs/coilovers match to the rest of the suspension.
