1st Cat: drill out honeycomb?

Since i got my frankspeed manifold, i just thought, if i was to clear out all the honeycomb filter or whatever it is, would it still pass mot?

I noticed it quiet dense so it must hadd some gain towards power.

members have posted that they felt no gain, and the deeper CGA cat is a lot more dense and longer (the CG one looks more open/bigger pores) the downpipe is more of a restriction imo (it reduces in size to a restrictive 32mm near the 2nd cat)

Im sure there must a some gain? how could i get my hands on a larger downpipe?

here,s my oversize diy downpipe (and the little piece of strengthening tube/restriction that i plucked out from the stock downpipe, near the 2nd cat (middle of pic)
