1.4 camshaft position sensor ( P0340 )

Looking for a bit of help,

There are posts on here regarding cam position sensors but none have been of much help. 2002 K11 micra, originally 1.0 CG10, now 1.4 CGA3 still on 1.0 ECU. Post-swap a check engine light popped up, code is P0340 - camshaft position sensor, replaced said sensor but still no luck. Anyone have a solution? something I'm missing? Thanks!

Possible loose/ corroded push on connections at the sensor?

Worn cam chain making the cam sensor action delayed & thus out of sequence with the engine/crankshaft position sensor?
