New section - K11s in Motorsport

Do not forget the the "RULE BOOK" it says " if the rules does not say you can something then you can not " so juggling parts from different years/Jap imports etc. is a no no,the rules are aimed towards a road going Micra without the glass and trim and fitted with a roll cage +other NASA...

New section - K11s in Motorsport

The Micra K11 is now getting closer to the Mini in Autograss racing as drivers find the little" tweeks" that the rule book will find hard to regulate, in my opinion a restrictor plate say 28 MM beneath the throttle body is the only to get a" level playing field". If the Micra was to eventually...

New section - K11s in Motorsport

Hate to be a spoilsport, but the NASA 2014 Autograss class one rule book clearly states a 4.05;1 differential ratio ONLY. My searching has not found any gearbox with a different second gear ratio when using the gearbox the dreaded rule book states you must use.But I love to learn so will look...

    Blog: K11 autograss build

Hmmmm Thats a big bummer wasting your time having your wiring loom ripped up " hope you did not pay the " FELLA", but still not running !!!and the season is ticking away.Just curious did the newer 1998 ECU run without all the immobiliser gubbins? as Frank above asked?.If you are still in...

Code reading Grass race/Motorsport Micra .

Once again thanks for reply/input,The plan is to use a pair of K11 1.0 ENGINES only , for a non car project using the least amount of wiring and this forum has some pretty sharp minds , but in the past I have both NASA Autograss involvment, ( K10 AND k11 )and still own a mint 1200 K10 road car.

Code reading Grass race/Motorsport Micra .

I am in the K11 Motorsport thread area LOL. the Bubble Micras 1.0 16v are used in class one in NASA autograss racing these days , but I can see why K10 Micra comes to mind as the have been " The" car in NASA Autograss ( Class two which is up to 1300 CCs 8v ) for many years. As always...

Code reading Grass race/Motorsport Micra .

I have just ordered a handheld code reader online , and will now have a look at a road car( Micra ) and see if I can make sense of the Diagnostic wires + socket , and see if I can find the PDF file Frank mentions above. Thanks .

Code reading Grass race/Motorsport Micra .

Just wondering if anyone has a system for fault code reading in Grass racing Micra , as I see very few original wires are retained , for instance could the diagnostic plug + wires be wired to the ECU?HAS ANYONE DONE THIS?

    head bolt socket size ????

As stated in above replys 12 mm is the correct socket, I find when using 1/2" drive its easier with a long socket. If you are using 3/8 drive you are risking damaging your rachet .

QUESTION??? gears be chipped and changed between gearboxes

The Micra gearbox( bubble micra) has an uprated gearbox on later models , it is visually different , and the clutch is different , also the drive shafts are probably different, so you will have no problem accidently fitting one LOL. The internals of the " big" gearbox are totally different to...

    Autograss class 2

There are many other options besides using Micras, In NASA autograss racing class two, there are about 50 Cars from many manufacturers and years that are eligible ,although anything other than Micra K10 and Vauxhall Nova /corsa s are rare ,and may stay that way for quite a while.

    K11 1.0 autograss wiring

This may be oversimplifiying things but its worth a mention , go to a days racing at your nearest club and ask a Bubble Micra class one racer how he wired up his car, with the correct information it will run with a small number of wires , usually the fuel pump( Bosch 038 or equivilent ) is...

    Junior hotrod

Thanks for the Video, yes it seems quick , A friend of mine has plans to give it a try , he likes"a level playing field "at present he is researching the costs , he already has a Bubble Micra partly built , just needs a bit of a shove to get it on track.

    K1O PISTONS

Even had a peek at the Chinese sites Ali Express Ali Babba ETC.What is frustrating is that I see some Grassers still have a source , but very costly .So some one is still manufacturing them. Also noted that the K10 is very popular ln Canada, so thats my next search place.

final drive raios for Micra K10

I am here researching gearbox ratios for either the 4 or 5 speed K10 gearbox, even looking at the K11 early box ratios, what I really need to know is can the 4.2:1 ratio differential fit the Boxy Micra casing?. Has anyone ever fitted a final drive from another manufacturer ( even another model...

    K1O PISTONS

I am unable to find reasonably priced pistons for a 1.2 Micra engine, yet E Bay ETC. is saturated with pistons for many other Jap engines of the same era,and even cheaper on USA sites. + sensible prices. 40 Thou . oversize would be fine , I would even consider good used pistons,
