Preface lift throttle body clean - How to clean in situ

I was wondering can the pre facelift throttle body be cleaned in situ, I read somewhere you can spray carb cleaner down the neck of the TB, is this advisable, does this work? I just want to try a couple of simple things, before pulling out the injectors, (if it is one of them) to try and my...

    Idle control K11 (preface lift)

Busy time with the 94 slx!

They are good prices you got for the K11. In June when my 1994 K11 LX gearbox gave up the ghost, I replaced it with a 1994 SLX. I thought when phoning Churchill up for notification of the change (policy 6 months in), it would be say £20 a year max more, or even no charge? It was approx another...

    How to test injectors

I think I have an injector, which is dropping out, how do you test them? Engine fine, then intermittently all of a sudden runs lumpy & sluggish, won't idle freely & cuts out, but runs if foot on the gas pedal. Then all of a sudden bursts back into life & drives normally. Sent from my VOG-L09...

    Idle control K11 (preface lift)

Hi All On my K11, I bought in June all going well. Though now the cold weather coming in, I am now intermittently getting a bad idle, this happens I'd say on damp morning sitting in traffic, especially when near fields with mist on them (engine warm or cold). The strange thing is my last K11 did...

Busy time with the 94 slx!

Interesting about the insurance as my other K11 (SLX), I had to pay for whack on the policy, as my daily runner takes the no claims bonus I am sure it was Flux who said it (the K11) couldn't go on a classic policy as not old enough.

    MOT Fail Inner sills

I was going to say the same thing! £700, is a lot for patches. I paid £450 once down south on my old pre facelift for extensive patchwork! The way I look upon it what does say £700 or so buy you in a vehicle nowadays, especially low mileage. It could be very viable to get the sills completely...

    How easy

I did mine 2 years ago on my former preface lift, probably first time the bolts been undone after 25 years. Why do people go for the WD40, there is so much better items out there! Spray the bolts in plus gas, (if possible let it seep in for 24 hours), then with a decent socket set gently apply...

    152 1994 1.3slx left 22nd MOT!

Nice one. One of my 1995 SLX's is going in for a MOT next week, (first time of presenting this one for MOT), hoping it should be ok, low mileage and had been garaged by former keeper.

New generic rear windscreen rubber install

Sadly, that vehicle went to the scrap in June, as the CVT gearbox went. I have to say after 4 months, I had to start pushing it back in, (I didn't glue it, if I did results maybe different), so it wasn't a success over time IMHO.

    Hi all ! I'm looking for a K11 1.4 to buy

I've only had CVT K11's, so can't comment about the manuals, though rule of thumb generally manual gearboxes less to go wrong.

    Hi all ! I'm looking for a K11 1.4 to buy

The 1.4 is a nippy motor, though I believe (I could be wrong), some parts are different from the 1.0 & 1.3, so might be more difficult to source? A couple of lower mileage 1.4 CVT's on ebay at the moment.

    Buying a k11

I can vouch for the welding. On my old former pre face lift that required welding every other year. Though my current pre face lift all good underneath, as garaged by the former owner. Though there are some very good low mileage examples still to be had, if you want a manual, far more choice...

1995 998cc running on 3 cylinders after wash.

In my experience of K11's this could be one of 2 things. A faulty injector. I had one years ago and it was very erratic on working, just came and went. The injectors tend to be reliable on a whole, but if one is not functioning it will just get worse or continue. It could be the MAF sensor...

[Apart from the wipers not working in intermittent it's otherwise fault free] If you want them working, change out the black box, I had the same issue!
