Unable to open driver door from inside

You may have to go in further I had a similar problem and the nylon guide that connects the steel actuator rod to the lock/unlock mechanism had broken. If your mechanisms seems ok then maybe a new lock is needed. As with everything on older cars sometimes you have to delve deeper to sort out...

Heavy steering and reluctant to return re-centre steering wheel

If the ps light goes out when you start up, then it's possible that the cpu has checked the system as ok, however I still believe untill you check the steering mechanics first and renew what needs to be changed you will not have a clear idea. K12's are great when you know them, buying a good one...

Heavy steering and reluctant to return re-centre steering wheel

Yes the UJ lives in the car foot well and is shielded from the elements, the main steering rack lives on top of the front subframe and which is protected from the elements by a plastic splash guard that covers from the front of the car to the rear of the subframe. I have just refurbished my...

Heavy steering and reluctant to return re-centre steering wheel

Steering column shafts on the K12 are designed for greater range of movement on their shafts than other makes of cars, due to allowing enough play to lower and unbolt from the lower subframe and then be reattached when reassemble of the subframe is undertaken. tight steering knuckles like on my...

Heavy steering and reluctant to return re-centre steering wheel

I use European parts when ever I can, here is a link to Meyle wishbones with a 10% reduction in price at the moment: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152223873203 Also a video link to help: The outer track rod ends are easy to replace for peace of mind.:)

Heavy steering and reluctant to return re-centre steering wheel

Check the lower ball joints on lower wishbones, they tend to be overlooked and are easy to replace and tend to become stiff even if not worn when car suffers lack of use. spares for lower wishbones are:54500 - AX600 & 54501-AX600, these parts are cheap enough and not long to change.

    annoying rattles from the back

some testers are more vigourous than others, as you say it would need a rolling road on the back to detect a no load rattle. mine passed with rear bearings shot and leaking grease onto shoes so MOT test is not infallible!

    dCi oil pressure light

5W30 is what I use in my Diesel, with regards to the oil filter as this is inverted when the engine is stopped the anti drain filter stops oil draining back into the sump, this is ok,as this particular 1.5 Diesel engine has been in production since early 2000's and is used in many Renault...

Heavy steering and reluctant to return re-centre steering wheel

Yes great cars for driving, just replaced my inner track rod ends, as I have replaced the subframe bushes and stabaliser rubbers and changed the down links. as its way easier to do this when subframe is lowered. Micra diesels are heavier on the steering than the petrol versions as it the weight...

    Micra C roof creak

As with all things that move and exposed to the elements, creaking usually means lack of lubrication in the joints and moving parts, start by closing the roof and lubricating the hinges that support the roof frame, then open the roof and do the same, carry out this untill the creaking stops...

    Micra K12 1.4 and 1.6 160SR shocks...?

Unfortunatly, Shocks tend to have model specific brackets welded to the damper tube for the drop links and flexible brake hoses. the rear shocks are K12 specific because of the design of the boot area. other areas like brakes front subframe bushes etc can be harvested from other makes of cars...

    Micra K12 1.4 and 1.6 160SR shocks...?

I get this from a lot of retailers saying parts I have ordered will not fit, but they tend not to cross check their data base as most of my parts are from Renault stock, Micra parts (same products) are 3x the cost!

    Micra K12 1.4 and 1.6 160SR shocks...?

Universal fit to all Euro models K12's, I also uprated my drop links from a mazda 2 ( D65134170A) for superior strength and stability.

    annoying rattles from the back

Check your rear dampers first then check the rear springs by jacking up the car and checking for movement in the rear axle.

Few pics of a new to me 25th anniversary model

Try cleaning them, but looking at your headlights they are the modified shape around the side lights, which are more stream lined than the bubble type of earlier headlights. also please check under the right headlight, you can look underneath the headlight without removing it to see if you have...

Few pics of a new to me 25th anniversary model

You can use "T cut" on the headlight lenses to clean them up, but I changed mine for new valio (good deal) as they are black headlights and are great now. sunlight tends to break down the lens over time, but the t cut will clean up for the MOT.:)

    K12 drivers side engine mount.

Interesting subject, the whole language around near side far side have been universally remapped to help left and right side vehicles discover the correct parts. I personally use continental purchases with Renault or dacia parts which tend to be cheaper and provide for a larger supply. The...

Heavy steering and reluctant to return re-centre steering wheel

Great, micra's are fun to drive and great on fuel, if you run some Archoil AR6900-D Max in the tank it will clean out the gunk in the fuel system and give you improved engine performance and extra MPG.:)
