Anyone had a clutch changed recently?

About 6 years ago I had to dig myself out of a money pit of my own making when I bought a tidy looking 13 year old K11 on 75K at the local car auction for £380 with a New MOT. As soon as I drove it away the clutch was working ok but the clutch pedal/cable needed muscles like Disney character...

Anyone had a clutch changed recently?

For me following the long established economic principles of “Bangernomics” for 30 years, there can be no sentimentality with money pit liabilities (cars), only pragmatic commercial awareness to minimise losing & wasting hard earned money on tin boxes on wheels that will be quickly forgotten as...

Anyone had a clutch changed recently?

For myself:~ Quote: “I would look for another K11 in good running order for less than that” One of the most significant advantages of K11 “bangernomics” motoring is the easy option to find another in good running order for less than the price any major repair job that is not fun to do & or...

Anyone had a clutch changed recently?

£500 for a clutch? They are having a giraffe. I would look for another K11 in good running order for less than that.

    Indicator / Hazard Light

Happy fault finding good luck. PS; I just remembered that the speedo instrument binnacle/ PCB is digital security coded matched to the NATS immobiliser system therefor not interchangeable without security recoding. Therefore best option is to carefully repair the existing speedo assembly...

    First car. coil or dizzy?

Easy answer is to just buy 1300 or 1400cc K11. Search due diligently until you can find one in good well maintained OEM condition that has not been messed about with by previous owners. NB; coil packs have a little extra power, less than 5HP to compensate for being significantly heavier...

SOLVED Stiff Gear Stick - not the spring issue.

The gear linkage swivel pivot points can dry out & function may be improved by lubricating its moving parts that can be accessed by removing the heat shield above the mid silencer. Double check engine & gearbox rubber mounting brackets that are old enough for any one of them to have sagged or...

    OBD Scanner question

Well said you make my point eh? You also may; Quote; never have any use for the superfluous Foxwell male jewellery that would sit unused on the gadget shelf. Mine is a 1998 1300cc ( OBD one ) & just keeps going in its twenty third year of trouble & cost free service, no need for waste of...

    OBD Scanner question

Mr Fahrenheit said ~ Quote; “upgraded to this foxwell nt680 pro which covers everything on a car, cost me £180” I could buy another K11 Micra in good running order with a long MOT for that much Wonga & never have any use for the superfluous Foxwell male jewellery that would sit unused on the...

    K11 Sparks...

Nissan design engineers set up & matched the ignition system for optimal operational performance with the OEM specified NGK plugs for normal road use as the K11 was designed for. Therefore why waste time & loads of money buying very long life plugs that are not suitable for the ignition system...

    OBD Scanner question

Your 2002 K11 will be OBD 2 with 16 pin out data connection test point outlet and if it’s running right from the get go, then you are most unlikely to have any issues other than simple routine annual servicing for which I have never needed a fault code reader in 19 years of driving ancient old...

Quote; "convoluted 'S' " When I saw the Bowden cable reeling & rolling that rambles round about the engine bay, I wandered far & wide to The Rolling English Road. "A reeling road, a rolling road that rambles round the shire And after him the parson ran, the sexton and the squire; A merry road...
