    Air con

Quote; “my car garage quoted me £98 for a simple oil change for £18 worth of materials i.e oil and filter”! Was that one of the UK wads wide free fit groups that make running old bangers uneconomic unless your hands on DIY handy & like getting deep down and dirty?

EPS Power steering column, what ACTUALLY goes wrong?

I never need parts running K10 & K11s since 1997 & in 23 years nothing ever goes wrong, treat it right & it looks after you. It only gets minimal basic DIY annual servicing & consumable parts only for long term durable reliable cheap as chips motoring. If it aint broke, don’t mess about with...

    Starter burned twice

Ignition switches are common failures on the K12, so much so that Nissan replacement starter motors normaly are supplied with instructions to replace ign. sw. before replacing starter motor. Quote: "17-9-2013: 2005 Micra needed new starter motor, cost £278. Apparently requires a new...

    Looking another key!

Almost any locksmith shop can read the code, cut & progamme a replacacement at £30 approx. A lot cheaper than the Nissan main dealers (Main Stealers)?

    Unplugging airbag sensors! Eek!!

Nats is integral on-board the ECU. Replacement ECU & keys will require Nissan dealer code matching to the BCM, IPDM, ABS, EPS, TB, dashboard instrument binnacle, & stereo in order to reinstate can bus digital data coms handshake between ECU & digital sub assemblies. May be more economical to...

    Unplugging airbag sensors! Eek!!

I have never scrapped or traded in a vehicle or bought from a dealer in 46 years of driving. Always buy privately other’s old banger leave offs cheap as chips & run them until they become too ropey for my liking, as I spend nothing on repairs, when I always sell them on with 4 months MOT & get...

    Unplugging airbag sensors! Eek!!

I guess that they have enough of their own toxic waste to deal with then unlike the UK that sends ours to be dumped in poor countries such as Africa, South East Asia & until very recently to China when they refused to be no longer dumped on by the Worldwide polluting UK.

    Unplugging airbag sensors! Eek!!

Scrap vehicles are regarded as dangerous “Toxic Waste” & the French are more long term forward thinking than the UK in not allowing other nations to dump their trash there. Looks like good environmental housekeeping or more simply avoiding problems by thinking ahead & side stepping them? :)

Who or what gave you the idea to short fan/sensor power supply connections?

    Unplugging airbag sensors! Eek!!

Yes. Can bus data comms monitor sensors & an open circuit triggers a fault mode until reset. Cheap DIY code readers do not address air bag modules. Best free option is to creative “improvise” call out AA/RAC who have professional code readers to hand. Good luck.

EPS Power steering column, what ACTUALLY goes wrong?

Needless to say, I am no longer inspired by tin boxes on wheels & just want something cheap as chips & not wasting any unnecessary resources on it that just keeps going, does the job for me. In the early 90s, I ran a W124 series 230TE at 8 years old & 80K & during 6 years use the following...

EPS Power steering column, what ACTUALLY goes wrong?

I stick with basic K11s, now on my third Shape/Equation bought 4 years ago, a 1998 1300cc on 48K with no P/S, ABS, central locking or sunroof & no problems! In its 23rd year, the less superfluous non-essential marketing sales gimmicks tat, the less there is to go wrong & fail the MOT...

EPS Power steering column, what ACTUALLY goes wrong?

Power steering is not necessary but is a “sales & marketing gadget must have “ extra that sells cars to the uninformed. I always avoid vehicles (Micras) with P/S as when it fails, the cost of repair renders the vehicle as an economic write off & MOT failure. :(

K11 JDM Cupholder ... is this a record price? Stone me!

The K11 was designed & built inspired by its “Japanese Kei Cars heritage” right from the get-go long term durable reliable & aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Modifying adding “clunky” bits of plastic tat adds little & detracts from original K11 near perfection. ;)...

K11 JDM Cupholder ... is this a record price? Stone me!

Just another wind up scam to groom the uniformed into paying over the odds at a feint of hand bidding up the auction?

I have managed 44 years driving w/o cup holders as I never missed what I never had & was taught; I wants, never gets? Too many typos at Midnight, wine or no.
