Car won't start and oil in spark plug

I assume the spark plug with the oil in the well is the one closest the oil filler cap .... that wont effect car starting anyway ..... Did you start the car .. move it a few meters and then turn it off again yesterday ? If so you have the quirky mid 90s starting problem that effected many cars...

Whats the max "SAFE" size of Tyres you can fit or have fitted to standard Micra 13" steel wheels (1995 car) . Down to 2mm on mine so need a set and shopping about sometimes a slightly wider tyre ie 165 is cheaper than the skinny 155s fitted.

Buying 2nd hand nissan micra 998cc

And finally ..... if its been sprayed with that nasty black shultz underseal that goes solid ... walk away .... dealers use it to cover up rust ......... and dont ever use it as it splits and then holds water in, that makes the car rust worse !

Have had a Halfords 2 ton trolley jack for about 10 years now ..... New Radiator - DIY or Garage?

Before you start ripping the radiator out just squeeze the top hoses and make sure the water isnt coming out of a split and shooting through the rad ...... making it look like a leaking rad .... nothing worse than buying a rad and finding it was a £5 hose ;)

Another crossmember thread ( sorry )

I agree its a £100 job .... but in Mid Devon finding a welder that doesnt splatter the weld over half the car is a challenge to begin with ... then you have to ensure they dont play a banjo and call you piggy ! That said the job done was large .. were not talking patches here but rather 2x 4...

Another crossmember thread ( sorry )

Its well worth hunting about for a good local welder because we tend to throw perfectly good cars away due to a rip off quote. I did a front cross member a year ago .... bought a new one on fleabay for about £26 delivered .... got two proper spot welder drill bits and at my first attempt it...

    Idle Observations about Idle

Mine did the same and I took the IAC valve off and gave it a good clean out ... put it back together and it still wasnt right ..... so I got a new pack of o rings from B&Q for about £1 and put a new one in that solved it .... seems there was a tiny bit of bypass on the o ring that was making all...

    Loud timing belt

Might take the panel off and take a look.... knew i had forgotten to do something .... 50k later lol... Completely agree with corrosion ..... I have waxoyled the beasty every year ... and the only part that has needed work was a cill repair where the previous owner ignored a split in the rear...

    Loud timing belt

Bought my K11 1.3 with a slightly rattly chain with 39000 miles on it.... not so much a rattle as a rubbing noise .. bit like a little steam train 7 years later it still has a rattly chain ....although does get a little quieter with an oil change so when the rattle gets loud i know its time...

Lower crossmember- do you "need" to weld it?

I bolted mine on and then gave it a nice thick coat of waxoyl .... never been an issue with the MOT man and easier to replace next time it rots. What is surprising is just how flimsy the section is.
