It could well be that the rad caps been bypassng a little water over time ......( never seen water come out of mine in 7 years ) ... you havent noticed the water gradually declining and its just got very low on water .. hence overheating......... fingers crossed its all okay and the leaky rad...

Well I take it back about Nissan ..... 2 x spring bolts and 2 x cat bolts £15.00 odd inc vat.....given the front pipe bolts are quite substantial thats not a bad price....... springs were another 6-7 each but i dont need them :)

Ahhh will be happy if they are only £7 odd ..... I have done the same and have a nut and bolt holding it together .. ... .. just dont want to leave that in too long as that will be a real biach to remove once its rusted lol ...... what a dog of a job ...only wanted to remove the mid pipe ...

Right got everything now except the bolt and spring for the front pipe connection ... so if anyone sees one anywhere let me know .. i expect they will be £££s at nissan.

Well Mid Exhaust pipe decided to blow ..... tried to seperate from cat and the bolt broke...... so then decided to take the lot off and the front pipe to Manifold bolts shagged ... someones rounded it off on the past .... bolts pretty much welded to the manifold.... So looking for a standard...

Having just paid through the nose to have the Mondeo front wheel bearing and track rod end fixed at the garage I have decided never to grace a garage with my presence again. So BEASTYS front wheel bearings are grumbling and a CV jont has a little click to it so i thought i would do them myself...

I wouldnt suspect internal quite yet ... far more likely to be failed thermostat / low level of water........ and because you havent driven it miles your likely to have got away with it .... fingers crossed......... Obviously find out where all the water has gone ..... may well be a cracked...

You need the round gaskets to go around the spark plugs ... if you have overtightened the cover you will have squashed these too much and will need new ones ..i suspect thats why one is leaking.. ... or you have dropped one on the floor ..... or in the top of the engine ... make sure you find...

I would get an assistant to elp you fit it then ..... can imagine the swearing trying to get that lined up on your own ..... let alone securing it ...

Personally I would replace the gasket before you run it again .... if you have cut it .... oil seeping out slowly anywhere wont cause major issues as long as the engine doesnt run out or get low on oil ........ but if it does fail or if the oil ends up on a hot exhaust manifold and it likely...

I reckon the slightly lower profile helps as well ..... not quite like a barge lol

Personally i avoid undoing anything from an exhaust unless i have used Plus gas on it for about a week earlier daily......and still it all snaps. .... my advice is find a local garage and get them to grind it all off ..... they will probably just grind up to the plug and then split the heat...

Regarding the Cam cover .... there is nothing wrong with using sealant although a new gasket is always better as you dont get a load of sealant running about your engine .... so if you use sealant get a nice even layer and not on the edges that face the inside of the engine as it drops off and...

If you mean the one on an earlier K11 circa 1995 then you unbolt and dont have to touch the wire or sensor ... or grind off the seized bolts and lift off. If you talking of the heat shields on the underside i dont know as i paid a local chap with a ramp to grind the rest off for £10.
