This is what you have with the Airbag slip-ring: Take it off and you have: You can see the resistor in place (Hi-Tech stuff). The plug has only 3 wires: 2 for the airbag, and the green/white for the horn push. Anyone got a non-airbag slip ring they can sell me?

No, the white plug is the wiring for the airbag, the horn is still connected to the push (the off-white plug at toe top of the frame). If you look at the pile of bits you'll see the round thing with yellow surface: That goes between the wheel and the column. The small yellow plug you see in the...

I have the tamperproof Torx bits too, and the result was the mangled bolt heads I show at the top. I think they're WELDED in! Anyway, aren't you supposed to put your own blood, sweat, and tears into your cars? ;) Also you will have noticed that I have removed ALL the gubbins for the airbag, so...

Finally fitted my steering wheel!! :D Now I need to work out how to make the horn work. Oh, and realised it was my gearbox going to bol-X making the noise. Threads on both.

okay, I now think its the gearbox that's dying by degrees, so I have a question: Is there any advantage in fitting a GA14 gearbox to my late CG10 over a replacement K11 gearbox e.g. stronger, better cruising ratios etc? Or should I just get a stock box? TiA.

So, after much faffing, swearing, bleeding, swearing, faffing, swearing, and swearing I had a pile of bits: .... so I could fit THIS! ! Now the "But"..... It's a bit close to the column stalks (I can work around that), but I have NO IDEA how to get the Horn connected! Anyone got some...

The knocking at the front could well be a Track Control Rod ball joint, which is an easy fix if you're handy with spanners and a hammer. Other than that it's the usual places: Sills, crossmember, etc. I'm not too knowledgeable about them yet, but I'l learning.

That was my initial thought, but the hole is just too big to be coincidental. Whatever had been used to mask the hole had flaked away over time. I'll see how it goes for now and start looking for a used shell with a dead engine or gearbox if it gets worse. :(

Now bodged with sealer until I decide what to do about it. :/
