i had that same issue. iirc there was a 4th wire that went to live i cant remember which tho. its either a 4th wire or maybe i mistaken it for one of the lives i really cant remember.

yeah mine wasn't silicone but it was fairly hard pipe it worked for me with the clamp tightened a bit extra. that araldite is bloody insanely sticky stuff tho.

i wouldn't set the boost much at all mate. i would start about 4psi if you can bare in mind standard 4age's on boost can only run about 6psi and thats a lot stronger engine lol. im not sure what the ma10's can take.

sounds like the exact same problem i had although your running bike carbs and i was running the standard carb. my intake boost pipe was completetly sealed and there was no boost what so ever. i know my fueling was probably a big factor but there should of been at least a bit of boost there but...
