And welded the seat rails to fit. Just needed to be a tiny bit wider

Our coilpack van has the same thing. It's not major thing, just on quick gearchanges it's a bit 'jerky' rather than smooth. Probably just a dirty tb, although i've never looked into it.
Black smoke is unburnt fuel usually. You said there was some things you left unplugged. Mad for example will make it fuel incorrect when unplugged...

Yeh that's what I've done but I had to extend my lower arms which isn't ideal. Last ones I did I changed the ball joint but the K10 ones aren't supposed to be removed

The caliper is completely different which means I'll need the whole hubs but I'm not sure about the ball joint dia like the k10 vs k11 hubs. I've ordered minted discs and pads now anyway only £45 for the lot

Yeh the sills aren't ideal but classic jap metal there's not a lot to weld to. I'll get some more pics when I finish it all after we've got some welding gas

Not for the moment cos I was having a couple of issues with the gaskets to seal. And not being able to bring the AFR down to a safe level on boost. Really need to sort my Nistune ecu before fitting it again.
Do the welding in the next week or so and use it as a dd. Then make a new manifold and put the turbo on it :D
Put the 1mm skimmed head back on the k10 for a little while.
Wdidt: test run the 1.3 turbo. Seems to smoke/steam a lot but I'm hoping that was just the oil I smeared around the bores when fitting the head.

The old 1.6 gasket might still be hanging up so I should be able to measure that. When I'm back at work I can see if you can get mls gaskets for them but I'm fairly sure you can't

Yeh mate. Iirc the g16a is 8v and g16b 16v. And I put a g13 gasket in my 8v g16 that's how I know they're the same but they aren't mls
