Snap, my rear shocks need replacing as well (2002 1.4 jap import) Monroe and I'm sure many other aftermarket shock manufacturers can provide shocks for jap import models. In other words~ there is no reason for your garage to have to import from Japan.

Have you considered that the steering wheel may have been removed at some stage and refitted incorrectly? Alternatively I would go back to the company that did the alignment for you and ask them to road test and redo if required.

Pop into your local Nissan dealer, they probably won't charge you anything just to look at it

FYI the micro switch and the locking mechanism are two separate components, the common fault on these appears to be the micro switch but you may have a faulty locking mechanism

Nissan don't sell these covers as a separate item, only as part of complete switch assembly so would suggest try a Nissan breaker or perhaps make you own from rubber bicycle inner tube?

Sounds like you had a poor battery connection that has probably been solved by removal and refitting of the battery

Have you considered buying a bicycle tyre inner tube and using it to make your own covers?

For your information I recently inquired at my local Nissan Dealership re these rubber switch covers as my boot release has worn out and come off, I was advised that Nissan do not sell the covers separately only as part of a complete switch assembly replacement.

An Auto Electrician is your friend, they could check for parasitic drain and test your battery for you; you know some will even do this free of charge.

The bulb is an H4 which incorporates both the main and high beams, if one of the filaments' in both bulbs has blown you should get checked for electrical fault as something would have caused the failure, H4 bulbs are available in various 'blue vision' brands a google search should get you there...

It doesn't have to be minus 0 to work, so you probably have a fault somewhere

If your plugs are Original equipment iridium then you should replace with same even though iridium's are more expensive they have very long service life (100,000 km/ 60,000 miles)

New plugs, air filter, injector cleaner?

Mine did the same (dash lights flickering ) when the battery died. The call out guy did jump start my car for me (so that can be done). But at the end of the day a New Battery was called for. FYI alternator on charge voltage across battery terminals should be 14.4 volts.

After listening to your video, it sounds to me as though the starter motor is failing to disengage fully after start up
