-06 Micra 160SR of Mika The Finn

Ingenious Mika, but sadly some don't haver such a nice big clear label with the number on it, my one for instance only had the 'BP' number engraved on the side of the radio, no sign of the sticker on the back.....

    Front brake upgrades

What make of front pads have you got fitted? I recommend Pagid pads, made a huge difference on the braking of my Sport +. When I got the car I fitted brand new Mintex discs and pads, but wasn't impressed with the braking, replaced the pads, after 1,000 miles or so, with Pagid and the difference...

    Micra Urban Van.

No, the spark plug washers, those are the inlet manifold seals, any leak there would 'just' cause the cylinder it feeds to run weak as it would allow ingress of air, not exude oil.... A pressure leak at the spark plug seal will probably cause an occasional misfire on that cylinder due to the hot...

    Micra Urban Van.

Sounds like a poorly sealed/seated plug washer, causing blow back from the cylinder into the plug aperture in the head to me.

    Tidied up the engine bay

Hi Mika, I used flanged bolts as well but 'mine' don't have the serrations under the head.... I added 20mm diameter stainless washers as they covered up previous damage/scratches to the plastic and stopped the new bolts scuffing the clamping surface when tightened down.... ;)

    Tidied up the engine bay

I have these A2 stainless square nuts coming and they will replace the grubby steel one in the plastic plenum chamber.....

    Tidied up the engine bay

The vast majority of the bolts are into captive steel nuts in the plastic plenum chamber or the car body and not into aluminium and as you point out water is needed on the others to create a corrosive electrolyte. This is not on a bike engine that gets wet regularly.......Warning noted, but I...
