Is it possible to add external temperature read-out to a 2006 K12 Initia?

Hello everyone,

I've been enjoying my 1.2 K12 Micra since I rescued it from being scrapped in September. It's a fabulous car and well worth the £100 I had to fork out to buy it, and the (approximately £350 I've had to spend on it since).

One feature that I wish it had is a read-out of the external air temperature and I think higher trim level K12s have this, displaying it in the LCD in the instrument cluster. Is it possible to retro-fit the necessary sensor and wiring to enable it? - has anyone done this?

Many thanks for any relevant info!

Simon.

Cheers for the answer - I was just hoping to be able to make it OEM, partly for the challenge but also just because I like to add OEM features to cars when they didn't have them from the factory. You should see what I've done to my late Rover 75 to replace many of the bits that the accountants robbed it of!

I'm heading to the scrapyard in the near future and wondered what I'd need to remove from a scrapped car and also how easy it is to add it to my little Initia!

My readout was OK , then one day gave up the ghost including fuel calculator and temp coolant light, these are built into the dash and to replace would be expensive, so visiting a scrap yard may have a faulty dash so be careful, I would go with a dash OBD2 readout attached to dash and fit a after market temp gauge , of course the choice is your?
