yes a previous owner maybe broke the spare key and just got a normal one cut maybe? or one door has had a new lock ?do both keys open all the doors+boot? i've had this kind of thing with cars before where they didn't realise the key had a transponder built in.

or just get a decent steering lock for it and remove one of the HT leads or something when leaving,they can't rob it then unless they tow it...in the old days before cars had electronics and stuff and you could break into them with a teaspoon or lollystick i used to just remove the rotor arm, or...

what about just fitting a complete motor+ wiper arm from the final K11 cars 2000-02 where the wiper sits flat? would that not work,get one from a breakers? or is the hole in the boot where the spindle comes through in a different place maybe?
