As much as someone is willing to pay for it .... GOSH ....

Given the history and the work that has gone into it, I'd say that it's out of reach for all the low-ballers out there, though hopefully it will sell for a little more than where it stands atm IMO :(

Its worth close to 10k i would think. Its got a **** load done to it but in saying that its only worth what people are willing to pay. I for one know first hand how much it costs to make something that goood and i would shell out 10k for it tomorrow if i did not just buy all the white knight gear.

Ahh... :p

You have no idea the emotion that just ran through my head when I first saw this. Ok now I'm over it and comfortable with the fact and no I'm not going to put a bid in :p

It sold to the current owner for much more than the current $5k starting price, so I would expect it to rise a fair bit still from here, but let's see.

It appears to have basically sat in his garage most of the time since the 2006 purchase, still only has 15000km on it since my full rebuild and I sold it running perfectly reliably, so it should be in great condition I reckon. It has the tough VLSD gearbox now too which seemed to handle the power well.

In a perfect world where I could own multiple cars, I would:
- Full respray pearl white.
- HK11 2000 model front end with bug headlights.
- HK11 2000 model rear bubble tail lights.
- Nice polished/coated cover made up for the turbo area.
- Fix the ugly non-slip dash mat up (make a new one).
- Autronic ECU (get rid of microtech).

I reckon that'd just about get it to perfection, it already has more than sufficient power on tap and the mechanicals are A1. But of course, that'd be another $20,000 by the time you shipped everything to oz and paid for tuning and labour, tow trucks, rego inspections, engineering certs tc no doubt about it.

Good luck and happy bidding!

It's been more than 2-3 years I haven't been visiting this site. It's hard to believe old "2" and old "blue monster" are both for sale and both unregistered...

It was modified with lots of effort and time. No cut corners. Definitely worth much more than the $5k starting price.

Yeh, not too bad. Married and been working for a few years. And now I'm back to Canberra 3 days per week and finishing off my degree by end of this year, but still working the other days. Been trying to look if anyone drive around in a Ralliart Colt but haven't spotted one so far. Haha.. hope u're doing fine too.

This car is totally legitimate. In the ACT, you can drive it into the government's own inspection station complete with the engineering certs and legally pass everything and get it registered. They have nothing to ping you on because the engineering cert clears it all.

But they are anal and try to hassle you. For example, some of the things I had to do to pass:
- wipe all traces of oil off the bottom of the sump/engine - otherwise they fail you on "oil leak" even if they can't prove that its leaking.
- Put a tiny exhaust blocker plate in the middle of the exhaust on one of the joins to muffle the exhaust down by another 1 or 2 Db, because it was ever so slightly above the sound level and they failed me on that at first even though the car has 2 mufflers, its still slightly just too loud. Then just pull out the blocker plate after you pass the test.
- Make sure the suspension (coil overs) are fully wound up so that you can drive over the minimum height thing.
- The dual stage turbo boost controller is in fact illegal so you have to remove it for the test and then just plum it back into the T piece after you pass. Even though I had it well hidden in the fuse box, they saw the rubber hose and followed it in there and removed the lid, then busted me!
- Tyres/Wheels must exactly match the dimensions that are listed on the engineering cert. Those exact tyre/wheel width etc have been selected as the safe ones for the car considering its weight and power etc, so don't go changing the wheels, it has to be exact.

- Um there was something else, I forget, but nothing that you can't bypass to get through the test.

Anyway, it won't be a simple drive in 15 minutes and you're done kind of thing - you will be fiddling around with the car for a few hours prior and after the test to pass. But you can definitely pass, the car is very clean and legitimate/quality. There is nothing dodgy.

That was all just in ACT too, actually NSW might be easier because as you mention, if you know someone, maybe you can take it to your own mechanic/inspection station to pass. But not sure on that..

strange things are going on with this sale...
when it was first listed on ebay (with no reserve), it sat with no bids, then apparently a deposit was taken on the car (sold for 10k) - i was informed that if i wanted to buy, it'd cost me 15k (even though the deposit was already made, and was just in cyberspace waiting to be available in the seller's account). then all of a sudden all bets are off, and the sale was postponed... then it reappears for sale with a reserve on it!?! not attempting to insinuate anything, but i'd suggest that this isn't the most transparent of sales...

I am insinuating everything.

I personally would not be bidding or buying from ebay. I would take cash and go and see the vehicle. All seems very sus at this stage. Buyers beware

I thought exactly the same thing when it was re-advertised last week kovert. Thought it was a bit sus with starting at 5k with a "reserve" on it when previously didn't have one.
