Porks bike carbs and boost project

From the microsquirt manual.......
To hook up your throttle position sensor (TPS), disconnect the TPS, and use a digital multi-meter. Switch it to measure resistance. The resistance between two of the connections will stay the same when the throttle is moved. Find those two - one will be the +5 Vref and the other a ground. The third is the sense wire to the MicroSquirt® controller. To figure out which wire is the +5 Vref and which is the ground, connect your meter to one of those two connections and the other to the TPS sense connection.

If you read a high resistance which gets lower as you open the throttle, the disconnected wire is the one which goes to ground, the other one which had the continuous resistance goes to the +5 Vref from the MicroSquirt® EFI Controller, and the remaining wire is the TPS sense wire.......


Not familiar with your ecu so not sure on the earths.
 
Making some progress again

All birds nest tidied up, wires in correct holes (I hope!)

Relays for fuel pumps and stuff done.

All that's left is to wore in fuel pumps (4 spades! That's all I need and don't have)

Maje plug for where dizzy was

Still havnt welded on trigger wheel!

Still havnt got the rubber sleeve bits for injectors lol

Tiny little jobs left......feels like it's taking forever!

Sorted out a easy/quick fix for covering the dizzy hole in the head


Using the cg chopped up dizzy flange, cut helicoil thread (original hole was a smidge to big, from where ma10 dizzy was used inside it)

Spent an hour stripping back my loom to find 1 wire I put in wrong place !

Was gunna try set up ecu but
Rain stopping play :(
 
Novice question coming up again :D

I need a timing light/gun, but I have coil on plug.....plugs.

Would I need a certain type of light/gun

How would I hook it up?

You can get ones which plug between the coilpack and spark plug, not sure how well they would work with wasted spark??
 
You can use the signal wire off coilpack no1 on a normal timing light no?
Not sure about that. The induction pickup for the gun is designed to register the high current and voltage or the spark. Signal is just the switch dir the transistor or whatever is in the coil
 
It'll just flash twice as often, you should still see the markings ok they'll just only appear every other flash.

Bloody electrics!!!

Don't know what I've done, but I've got no power to most things.

I've got........hazards, horn, and lights

I don't have any thing when I turn the key, none of the dash lights come on, nothing, all fuses ok

Any suggestions?

I was jus fishing out that manual you kindly gave me, and came across that too.
:)

Il check it tomorow now.

Tested fuel system, no leaks....phew

Jus loaded up the tuner software to laptop so bring that in too to start tuning........scary stuff!
 
Mine went a couple of times so I converted it with bullet connectors so it was removable as a ghetto immobiliser :D

Good call, worked a treat, engine cranks over, all lights and gizmos back.

Later on I'm gunna start calibrating tps and temp sensors

Hahha, I literally have no idea what I'm doing :D

Not a clue, I'm jus messing about with different values, no idea at all

All I've managed to do is calibrate the TPS
It almost started a couple off time

If anyone wants to chip in a thought or 2, please do

When I crank it, the laptop says engine is doing 6000 rpm!

Here's pic off trigger wheel, sensor, and the black line is TDC

Any idea what I should tell the ecu to do with it?

I'm asking a lot, I know, I'm waiting on replies from supplier too as to what to do

cranking speed is about 200rpm ? so sounds like its sensing every tooth neil ? what is the clearance/distance mate half a mil ?
