Insurance for a young driver?

I fear there's no such thing :(

Best bet for first year or 2 of insurance is 3rd party fire and theft with at least one experienced driver named on your policy and do not mod!
But make sure to enquire about fully comp as that apparently can then bring a quote down.
Shop around
Check specialist young driver insurers ;)

I was with specialist female driver insurers for my first two years
(Diamond then doric la femme, part of provident? I think)
then with the co-op and then churchill, now Admiral
Admiral have been the best so far (as insurers go lol)

My first insurance policy was 3rd party, with my mum as a named driver, 10 month cost £650 (I was 19)
And that was in 2005

Spend a year driving like your nan, get a years ncd, then do the modding thang...

I found 3rd party more expensive in my first year :( was told they see it as admitting your a bad driver :/ first year I was with a company called ingenie with a black box, dropped £1800 in my second year with a different insurer (no box) and bigger engine. It all depends on individual circumstances though as mine was the most expensive out of all my mates due to my job.

When I was 17 I paid around £3000 for my 1.3 Super S. A year later best I could get was £4000. No crashes and no mods declared. This was why I had to give up driving when I came to university. Seeing as im finishing up in a few weeks I'm looking into getting a Corolla T Sport 192BHP and its only £1000. Insurance is ridiculous!

Best thing I can suggest is shop around, usually quotes are cheaper over the phone. And a nifty trick is going fully comp and setting excess as high as it will go, its usually cheaper than 3rd Party.

Last year at 18 my first year of driving I was fully comp with my parents on for £718 through diamond and they were fantastic! X

The way to get cheaper insurance is to get a job as a funeral director, genuinely I applied for a job at the local crematorium, my insurance quotes went down to about £160 !
Although insurance shouldn't influence career choice lol

Scientist, also.

Unemployed is the most expensive.

I'd recommend Endsleigh aswell, for the first 6 months I paid £1400, and by Jan i had one years ncb, its cost me just a tad over £1000 for this year:D well worth a giving them a ring

Dealt with a few dead un's in my time, you're never out of work - they keep coming!!! use to manage a 30 acre cemetery and mortuary. First job in the mornings was have a look in the fridges to see if you knew anyone brought in overnight.

try put 3 drivers on,, all over 40 ,,all driving for over 20 years,,clean licenses,,and no claims on going..

NCB isnt that good seeing as they've caught on to them Johannesburg 15 year NCB i had :) and everyone else is at it :) intercontinentals

On the phone haha

Best 3 iv seen are Admiral/Diamond and Elephant but their all the same company if you get me :)
Awkward thing is mate all three of them are part of the same team and owned by eachother. They can accept any quote from eachother.

I was with Diamond, I went to go with elephant as they were the cheapest. When I phoned them up they just sent me back to diamond but using their cheaper quote.

Mine costs £600 with all mods declared with only one years no claims.
