Hi everone, i just picked up my Micra today, it's my first car so it's still a bit strange driving it after mortorbiking for years lol, but i've been waiting to a Micra for ages (after hearing so much about them from my friend (aka Jordan27 on here :L) so it's great to finnaly have an awesome little K11, and for what it is, it handles pretty good although it is bit boaty around corners (i hope to sort soon) :L.

Anyway i picked my Micra up on Ebay for £475. Owned by an old lady who recently gave up driving, so it's only had one owner from new, which i was pretty suprised at! it's got 51K on the clock too which i though was pretty amazing for a 20 year old car!
So enough of my ramblings (lol) here's some piccy's for ya :D

Welcome Ben, nice little car there :). Stick a set of bog standard 35mm springs on it, you won't regret it. I had mine fitted by a garage (we're talking 12+ years ago) but it took me two hours to get the 10 miles home :D.
 
Thanks for the welcome everyone. I had a look at the VIN plate and the colour is TJ4 blue so that's handy to know. I'm defiantly gonna get it lowered because it's so rolls so much in corners (still manages to handle well mind!). Although i have recently found out that K11A's do not have a rear anti-roll bar, but technically i should be able to fit one from a facelift K11 Micra, if the mounting points are on mine. Would anyone know if thats actually possible?

Think my pal from rallying just done it. He had to cut and weld from a scrap Micra I believe.

Hopefully i plan to do quite a bit to it but haven't have the time yet, all i've managed to do is get rid of the reverb pipe on the intake and get rid of the wheel trims! :L
 
Plan is, get front anti-roll bar (because i'm pretty sure i don't have one but the bolt holes are there i've been told), get better suspension (probably a 35-40mm drop). Perhaps get a frankspeed modded manifold and a GA16 airbox. So i best start saving :D (and i got a few things to sort out before the mods start anyway)
 
Good news! I was looking under my Micra today (when giving it a clean finally) and i do indeed have the mounting points for a front anti-roll bar! So i will deffo be going to a scrap yard soon to pick one up and see if it'll actually make a difference. Should be cheap to as i can't imagine many people want a stock anti-roll bar :p
Oh and i've taken me wheel trims off at last, and i think i might paint the steelies silver (whenever i get round to that :L)

I'd get a back ARB first, having a stiff rear in comparison to the front will help turn in :) ARB's, despite the name, don't limit roll that much, you'll need lowering/stiffer springs for that

Spot on Alex only thing I'd add is if you can afford coilovers then get those.. and get em set up :)

I'm running front arb delete, stock rear arb. Slightly more oversteery than before but still controllable. Needs a track test really.

Yours is stiffer than standard so you've got it how I'd expect

Definitely needs a good track test :)
 
Right, a little bit of an update on the Micra. First of all i found out that my drivers side diff oil seal was leaking, after a few hours it was out and replaced with a shiny new OEM part from Nissan £5, and the correct amount of oil back in the gearbox and so far it's been ok (no leaks so far). Interestingly enough when i drained the gearbox of oil only 1.5L came out and it all ways make a noise like a worn clutch release bearing at idle, but after putting 3L back in the noise has disappeared (for now anyway). I also had to make a new tool for getting it out and here it is lol. Unfortunately I forgot to take some pictures of it being done :(

Carrying on with the updates, i've got hold of some mud flaps!! :D I know it's not much but i really wanted a pair lol and it was even better as they were free! Anyway on to the the best part of my update, earlier on this week i ordered my new suspension!! Uprated shocks and springs with a 40mm drop, they were £200! but should make a huge difference when it comes to handling. Even more so as my shocks on the left of the car were shot lol. So new suspension will be going on when i get some time and i will get some pics for all of you :D

Yep that's right TJ4 blue :D Looks purple or blue depending on the weather! Yeah i don't know the proper name for the seal i just assumed it was called a diff oil seal. It's the seal that sits between the drive shaft and gearbox and stops the gearbox oil from falling out ;)

That is good hear this. :) I need to sort out mine soon. You got them from your local Nissan dealership? How much did you spend? Why did you need this diff seal tool? Are they hard to remove it? Cheers JK

Yeah i got my seal from the local Nissan dealership. Much to my surprise they actually had one in stock! It was £5 so not too bad. It does take a while to do as it's pretty difficult to get at, it took me around 4-5 hours to do it with the help from my mate, and my new tool isn't really a tool :L I just had to bend some bar so i could get behind the seal to pull it out.
 
Went down to Swansea yesterday (sunday) to go and pick up some Super S seats!! Don't get too excited as there only the back bench, but they look nicer than the ones i have at the moment and should help darken down the interior when they are fitted, oh and i forgot to say they were cheap! £10 ;)

So got my back seats fitted today, and what would of been a 10-20min job took 2 hours because of the persistent heavy rain and tons of thunder and lighting. I got the old seats out and then it started raining so i had to stop to wait for it to stop, and I did manage to get a few pics this time around! Well worth my £10 makes the inside look so much nicer and darker.
Now all i got to do it find some different front seats. I am thinking of getting some MK1 impreza seats as they are cheap and look good in a micra, and i heard you don't have to modify the scooby seat sub frame, all you need to do is make some brackets.
1st pic is of the old and new seats, 2nd is the micra 2 seater sports hatch and 3rd is my maaad new seats fitted!
