12v cigarette lighter question

I've tried pumping up a flat tyre with 2 different compressors (one brand new) and both of them are turning off at around 20 PSI.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? It powers everything else just fine and everything else is unplugged.

The newer one is a Halfords digital, it says it should work for 30 mins and then be allowed to cool off to prevent overheating. This is happening within about 60 seconds on both of them though which is why I'm thinking its an issue with the power supply.

Only thing i had like that is fine crack in one of the fuses. when load made it hot it would separate slightly
