What are these ceramic one of which you speak? Have I done wrong with my repair above, guessing that the previous owner bodged it because a connector melted and didn't have the brains to do it properly!! What damage would I be looking at in the fuse box and what do you have to change? May LH...

What I did today was un-speed related! Removed the corroded badly crimped headlight connections and fitted the one off ebay, soldered and heat shrinked (last pic is pre-shrinking the wrap). Trouble is I have no power in the garage so was running an invertor off the battery to run the soldering...

me and a mate were in Germany on the autobahn, me on the blade and him on a Bussa. We were very quick!! Could not condone such activity on UK roads ;)

It's always a pita when you get bits that don't fit. It's good to know that there are 2 sizes though - could you post the offending part number, and the right one, to help anyone in the same position please?

+1 on that or a connector disconnected from taking it all apart.

Got 2 of these from ebay to replace the (badly) crimped connectors on the headlight bulbs. Can't do anything in this rain tho :(

hopefully its a bleeding issue - on the rod in the MC the front seal is lipped and the pressure of fluid pushes the lip tighter against the inside of the mc the more pressure there is. if it wasn't leaking its probably ok - all clean and no scoring on the metal of the mc I assume? I've not had...

Sorry to resurrect a old thread. I’ve been looking on ebay and there are a lot of service kits on ebay – how do you know if these are genuine of cheap foreign knock-offs? Anyone got any recommended sellers? Thanks :)

Just used my first tank of fuel and averaged just shy of 42 mpg; 2/3 short trips in and around town (which is what I wanted it for) and about a 1/3 m-way so quite happy with that :) As it had no service history I do reckon it could do with new plugs, leads, and dissy cap and might get a few more...

I like the thinking! :) The CBR's use a MAP sensor for sure. You could perhaps use the CBR900rr Fireblade TB as the last carb versions were 918cc iic (1998/99 cbr900rr-w and rr-x models) and is closer to the engine capacity than the CBR600.
