Mine's rather different, being a diesel :p But my mums 1.4 sve looks the same as yours and it seems that the earth wire is supposed to connect to the front slam panel bit. There's a bolt between the washer bottle fill capand the headlamp unit ;) Just trying to upload photos for you ^_^

one end should be attached to the engine, the other to the chassis. Alternator bracket is the engine so the end hanging about needs to go to the chassis ^_^ I'll have to look at mine and my mums k12s tomorrow as it is dark, cold and drizzly right now ;)

Not sure if it is the same as mine but I have two little buttons on the display (next to the speedo etc) If you press the one on the left the display should cycle through the different functions (mpg, distance to empty, miles travelled A, miles travelled B, average speed mph) ...possibly

I'm not actually sure, i think its a switch at the gearbox? the previous owner had sorted it on mine (1990 LS) my dad just changed the actual switch on the dash from, i kid you not, a wall light switch to the kind you'd see in the cockpit of a plane :p

My k10 had an issue with the reversing light not coming on when reverse gear was engaged, it's to do with the relay/switch whatever coming loose or something, from the linkage...thing. Gosh I'm helpful *facepalm* When I put her in reverse I had a switch on the dashboard to turn the light on ^_^

I tend to cruise between 55 and 65, keeps my mpg ridiculous :p (Currently 68mpg) Of course with my dci I have the torque for easier overtaking, something my 1.0 k11 did struggle with sometimes ^_^ My k10 never got past 56, foot to the floor, downhill, with a run up LOL :P
