That doesnt sound great :s Did you place one end down first then the other? they are a tight fit (intentionally) but you shouldnt have to cut it! They are all made on the same jig and every other one has fit (that i know of).

Thought I would update this with the latest data: I did a test with strain gauges fitted, the results graph and gauge placement. Gauge 2 (green) failed during the test but it would have been similar to gauge 5 (pink).

The ones I supply with the bushes are 70 long and just long enough. I would add whatever the brace needs to 70 if I were you :)

Yeah, its a quasicrystalline Al which is cast as a semi solid as far as I know. I think it may be rapid age hardened with a heat treatment. I think he is working on a powdered Al alloy also so it may be that.

The rubber doesnt absorb the force as such, but it does allow much more deflection. it would be nice to see load/deflection without bushes but I think iv been kicked off the tensile machine now :( I will see what I can do. THANK YOU!
