    Mike, my white 300€ Micra

Haha, thanks. Yours is like a younger look-a-like! There's still some rough running here and there. Might be the fuel system, might be the timing chain. But it runs and drives fine enough for now, and I can get on with some more tinkering come summer holidays. The speakers were a significant...

    Mike, my white 300€ Micra

Hinge time! I bought a good set of driver's side hinges for 20€ off of some guy parting out his Micra. Thinking of ways to change the hinges, I decided to pull off the front quarter panel and change the hinges in-situ, with the door closed. Not the easiest job though, with rust etc. Starting...

    Distributor rotor screw size

Update: F-ed around and found out. A M3 screw, 8mm length, with captive spring washer. Found loads in a bin at work. Gave it a drop of blue threadlocker for security. Farnell link here. Or pillage your nearest frequency converter ;)

    Oil light flickering

Then I would be worried. Keep in mind you said in the original post it flickered only when starting.

    Oil light flickering

I wouldn't really worry about it yet, as long as the light is not on when the engine is running. It might mean your oil is getting a bit old or your oil pump might be starting to go out, but again, as long as the light isn't on while the engine is running I wouldn't be worried.

    Android Auto

Don’t know where you’re based but any of them should have ISO plugs in Europe at least. If you want to avoid extra wiring, don’t go with Kenwood (or some JVC United) as their steering wheel remote signals are connected by a wire, not a jack like most other brands.

    Distributor rotor screw size

Hi, I'm trying do diagnose an occasional rough-running issue with my Micra. I bought it broken and fixed it with a new RSB-53 module. It just popped into my mind that the screw used to hold on the rotor was not the correct one and it might cause the rotor to be loose. Could anyone measure...

Bee r rev limiter help crankshaft and camshaft sensor pins on ecu

Camshaft sensor should be pins 30 and 22 connected together, white wire. Voltage feed from pin 48, blue wire. I don't think there's a separate crankshaft position sensor, that is handled by the camshaft sensor as well. Pro tip, google "k11 micra service manual pdf" to find the Nissan service...

    Android Auto

Looks like you should be able to install any two-din sized head unit either directly or with a simple fascia plate. This means that pretty much any commercially available Android Auto head unit will fit. While I don't have one myself, I have heard good things about Sony's line of touchscreen...

    Mike, my white 300€ Micra

Mike rides again! After a deafeningly loud 20min drive to the exhaust shop, I managed to be the second customer there, at 7.40 am. The guy took Micra in and fixed it in about half an hour, and it cost 60€. Not a bad deal at all. Before and after: Now off in the afternoon to buy some new door...

1995 Micra runs well when cold but gets rough and lumpy when warm?

Tbh, you don’t need a datascan if you don’t adjust the valve, and aside from the soldering bit everything can be done with a couple simple tools. I guess soldering can be intimidating for someone who’s not used to it but hey, you never learn if you never try. Good luck with that anyways, hope...

    Mike, my white 300€ Micra

Well, I suppose while I'm at work and bored, I'll write up about a few of the things I had done, from looking at my phone photo album. July 2022: Installed a lighter socket (for phone charging) Cleaned the seats and other interior bits with an extractor-vac August 2022: Changed the fuel...

    Mike, my white 300€ Micra

Haha, it sure does. Take a listen: I'll have to low-rev it all the way to the exhaust shop next week. Luckily it's Kehä 1 almost all the way (a ring road with 80km/h limit) so the noise shouldn't bother too many people on the way.

1995 Micra runs well when cold but gets rough and lumpy when warm?

According to your suggestions, i'd check a couple of things out first, all related to the throttle body: (don't mind if the instructions state one or another version of the engine, the 1.0 and 1.3 versions are 99.9% identical) Check the waxtstat idle mechanism Check and clean the IAC valve...

    Mike, my white 300€ Micra

Well, fiddlesticks. All was well and good, until today, literally a single day later, I was pulling out of the grocery store parking lot. I shut down the engine at the intersection to save fuel, and start as it turns green. Suddenly: BANG-VROOOOOOOM-SCRAAAAPE. The exhaust came off. [Insert pile...

    1999 k11 Nissan Micra 1din Radio Upgrade

My Micra has a Din-style (flat) connector stock. It’s a bit hard to tell but it seems the Sonys have the older long-plug style connector, so you would need an adaptor.

    Mike, my white 300€ Micra

Everything was nice with the new radio with Bluetooth and all, but there was one slight problem. When you crank the engine, ACC power is removed, which is a pain if you manage to stall the engine or have to wait somewhere with the engine off, as Bluetooth would disconnect and take a small...

DIY guide: Facelift bonnet grill block-off / removal for painting

Quick update; went to the shops, and the car never used to heat up completely on that travel. Now it did, and it’s quite the snow storm outside.

    Mike, my white 300€ Micra

Eh, I decided to forgo the more story-like, chronological updates. So random updates it is, with time jumps contained. Recently, I fitted a new radio I got from my brother as he changed cars and a Pioneer is much more useful loose than a Seat stock radio: I also blocked off the bonnet grills...

DIY guide: Facelift bonnet grill block-off / removal for painting

First off, let's answer the question: "Why would you want to do this?" Aerodynamics: It might help lessen the amount of air entering the engine bay and give you a fraction more MPG. Heat management: The Micra is made for a wide range of environments. The finnish winter is on the colder side...
