Cool make your you get the correct drive shafts as they differ with what year the box is. Also you will need the 1.3 gear linkages. The loom will be the same the ecu will be different as in the map.

As long as your swapping dizzy engine for dizzy engine its all the same just switched the ecu. It will run but runs better on the right ecu. You swapping the gearbox? To keep it simple I'd stay with the box that's there :-)

Would there be any real benefit to leveling the block with shorter pistons or just skim the head to raise comp?

The raised compression sounds good. If the pistons are shorter in the block then skim the block so the pistons are level then they should be able to run without hitting surely?

Ok so I keep mulling over results in my head, so I need clarity although maybe a dumb question Lol. What would the result of a block being skimmed by a couple of mm. This would bring it flush with the pistons I have. Technically I was thinking it would make the throw shorter allowing slightly...

I didn't remove any pins in the end just cut and swapped the wires on the light itself to match
